I truly believe that art is supposed to wake up emotions. The most important
part is that there is no stipulation upon whether such emotions positive or
negative. The only requirement is that the emotional impact must be
intended. Id est, an objective value of a piece of artwork (a photograph in
this particular instance) is determined by a magnitude of an emotion that it
creates in a viewer's brain. Quite often the emotion is not what the artist
wanted it to be, because the artwork is almost never perceived identically
by an audience, but if this emotion is strong enough, it most certainly will
carve itself in an every recipient's memory. If, however, the emotional
impact does not correspond, at least partially, to what the author has been
trying to achieve, the photograph becomes worthless form an fine art
standpoint.
